Honey Glazed Chicken - finished product |
Yesterday my mother and I decided to try out a recipe called Honey Glazed Chicken. She stated it was something she had heard about on the Food network and decided to give it a whirl. So I went upstairs to the computer and found 3 different recipes on it but we eventually decided to go with this one from AllRecipes.com. We followed the directions closely but as usual my mom likes to make slight "variations" with recipes.
Most of the ingredients - Apple Juice, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, water, soy sauce, honey ginger |
All the ingredients for the marinade - this has all the ingredients above as well as a small chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic |
She added garlic and onion powder and instead of crushed ginger she had ginger honey, since the recipe asked for honey anyway, it was like killing two birds with one stone. After mixing all the required ingredients (again go to the recipe to see all that is required) we put it in the fridge to marinate for about a hour and a half. Well my parents decided to go see The Avengers, so I was stuck with getting the chicken out the fridge, arranging it in a pan, and then putting it in the oven, I know very taxing right? lol
Chicken after being washed |
The chicken and marinade in pan prepped for oven after being in fridge for 1 hour and 3o minutes. |
So within a hour the chicken is ready and I must say it is one of the best recipes for chicken I've done, the sauce that was used to marinate the chicken was so damn good..... My parents came home and my mom tried a piece. She stated the only thing she would have done differently was put the broiler on it for a few minutes to brown the chicken a little bit more for presentation, but overall she thought it was "the bomb" as well. (Translation of "the bomb" = it is good).
She also made other items to go with the meal as well like some roasted veggies (broccoli, zucchini, & squash) and some Mac & Cheese.
