As DUMB As Men Are For LYING, Women Are DUMBER For Believing Them
I will very rarely post other blog entries from other bloggers to my blog unless it's like a "oh damn" moment. This is one of them. Read this morning, from one of my favorite bloggers to read from. Lincoln is dangerous;)

STL Lose to Win Fall 2012 Challenge: Week 3
So this morning I went to my designated area to weigh-in since I was going to a party after work and would not be able to go weigh in afterwards. For the most part I've been doing pretty well with my working out habits. I went to Queeny Park this past Sunday to do my long distance walking. Let me start off by saying this was the TOUGHEST park I have ever walked. This park also doubles as an Equestrian park and when you seeing all the hills that I had to walk up and down, you kind of get an understanding why it might be a long while before I tackle that park again.

Normandy/Wellston vs (D)estroying (E)verything (S)peciallly (E)ducation
This evening I came across a conversation from some of my former Wellston Co-workers via GroupMe (a group chat App for Android & Apple phone users). They were talking about a story that was apparently on the front page of the Saint Louis American. It was in regards to Normandy losing their partial accrediation from DESE. Now my ears INSTANTLY perked up and I went online to find the story. Click here to read it for yourself and another post from the Saint Louis Post Dispatch can be read here.
A night with my girls - Kamina & Danielle
Self pic this morning (9/23) from sis's laptop |
(9/22) Yesterday I had a really great morning with working out doing boxing and kickboxing. Once I got home I chilled out for a few hours than deep conditioned my hair. Before leaving my house to make my way out to St. Charles to check on my sister psychotic dog, I made plans with my girl Danielle to pick her up nearby and then she called one of our best friends, Kamina to see where she was so we could hook up with her and go out and have dinner.

The Holy Spirit can get to you anywhere
Today I had an ordinary Friday. I went to work, I walked the high school track to get in some exercise, went back to work, finished work. The end. I had planned on going to the gym this evening for a kickboxing class and to workout on weights, but I decided before going to visit Best Buy because I needed a pedometer for a walking contest that I am in that starts Oct. 1st.
I already had done some research before going so I was 90% sure of the one I wanted to buy, a FITBIT-Zip. So I arrived at the store, go to their pedometer section and glance around at their different options. I found the one I was looking for on an end-cap and I was reading the box. So I decided to go to the computer section of the store and use one of their laptops just to make sure this is what I really wanted.

Getting my Mojo back: Walking Project
I've decided as a project that I am going to TRY (huge emphasis on that word,) to walk as many of the different Saint Louis County Parks to add to my health regimen. It will give me a chance to see different scenery and will help with me not being bored.
So I decided to do some research on my goal and came across the Saint Louis County Parks website. This site is WONDERFUL! It gives a break down of all the different parks in Saint Louis County and they even have a trail page so I can see ahead of time where I might want to walk and lets me know how many miles I'm dealing with.

An evening with Kirk Whalum & his family
Let me first start this post off by saying that I am listening to Kirk Whalum's newest album, Romance Language and I tell you it is smooth, sensuous, and just simply breezy. Ok now back to the task at hand.
I had the pleasure of going to this concert because my mom informed me that a friend of her's who was an AKA (Alpha Kappa Alpha) was selling VIP tickets for one of their fundraisers. My mom asked if I wanted to go and if you know me, you know my answer was a resounding, YES!!

A day to myself...physically and mentally
You ever feel like you need a day off? Well I did and took one off this past Thursday. I was looking forward to it and had packed an overnight bag to stay at a hotel so I could just chill out and relax. Thursday morning I checked into my spot and got myself comfortable but that was short lived. The toilet had flooded over and had made a mini pool in the bathroom. So I had to call the front desk and move to another room. So after making the switch up and testing out the new facilities I finally settled down again.

Contest Entry: Dita Eyewear Insider Contest
Dita Supa Dupa |
Saw a contest on Facebook for Dita Eyewear. I adore this company! So I decided to write an entry. Tough part I had to write up to 100 words. Obviously my first go around had me around 180. So after a quick edit, I was able to get it down to 100. Below is my original version without limitations.
A little bit of this and a little bit of that makes for a VERY busy weekend
Well these past 3 days were filled to the brim. On Friday after work I decided to fore go the gym and do a bit of self pampering with a Manicure and Pedicure. Even with all that crazy rain, I just preferred going to the nail shop. I figured if I was to be swept away at least my hands and feet would be on point.

Shameless Plug: Charles D'Angelo - Motivational Fitness Coach
The Book I'm reading |
website: http://www.charlesdangelo.com/
facebook page: Charles D'Angelo
Well this evening around 5pm I arrived at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at West County Mall for a book signing. I heard about this guy from a former Wellston School District co-worker back in 2010. At the time my coworker was going through Charles's weight loss plan and told me about how he is well known (from Saint Louis, MO) and had made such a difference in so many lives and his website was definitely a testament to it.
